We spent the week before Labor Day in Canada--first in Toronto, and then at the Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville (which is where the G8 will be held next year!). In Toronto, the boys got right into the swing of house/park/sidewalk life. I don't think we'd even pulled into the driveway coming home from the airport before Sorin said he wanted to go to "Oma's park". He was also very happy to be reunited with his orange bicycle! Rian enjoyed taking the truck for a spin.
It was a tad chilly the first few days at Deerhurst (hence the jackets!), but the weather got more beautiful as the week went on. Apparently we enjoyed the only summer weather in southern Ontario this summer!
Despite the chill, we all took advantage of being on the lake and went kayaking and canoeing. Apparently I still know how to paddle a canoe, although whether the middle paddler is helpful or not is up for debate:).
The ducks (a favorite of Rian's) were exceptionally tame and ate right out of Dada's hand!
And even in 60F weather, sand is so much fun to play with.
The boys took full advantage of the pools, both inside and out. And Sorin continued to perfect his swimming skills.
As the weather got better we spent more time at the beach (with less clothes!), with little brother eagerly mimicking big brother as they helped Dada construct a sand city. It was very cute to watch!
Sorin also had a special outing with Oma and Opi to the ranger tower in Dorset, which he proudly climbed (and without complaint!).
We had a fabulous time--thank you Oma and Opi!
