Birthday play date

In lieu of an "official" Birthday party this year, we opted for a smaller Birthday "play date" for Sorin. There are a number of factors that led us to favor a smaller event, not the least being that there are 16 children in Sorin's class this year. I don't have the energy, resources, or skills to effectively entertain that many children (many of whom are energetic boys!). So for the sake of politics (and my sanity), we only invited friends from outside school. It turned out really nicely, for the most part. We played pin the horn on the monster, raced some cars down a track, had an bouncy ball and spoon race, did some dancing and freezing, and played Hullabaloo. Oh, and of course there was pizza and cake (Spiderman cupcakes!).
